is a work-in-progress project from Patricia since 10/ 2015 in cooperation with the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and the City of Frankfurt. The topic is the arrival of more than 1 million refugees in Germany and the individual and social situations related to this. Performers and participants are German citizens and refugees. At various stations, in the realm of performative possibilities and actions, democratic values are settled and negotiated by one’s personal position, in order to find a good cultural integration of diversity. The experienced and artistically acquired competences are transferable and should contribute to the cultural integration of diversity. Also included is the attempt to grasp suffering and trauma, manifested by situations of flight, which exist in the collective memory of older Germans and are becoming more and more a worldwide experience.

„‘The Big Arrival‘ thematisierte 2015 das Ankommen von über einer Millionen Flüchtlingen in Deutschland und die damit verbundenen individuellen sowie gesellschaftlichen Situationen. Die als partizipatorisch angelegte Work-In-Progress-Ausstellung wurde kontinuierlich über vier Monate von Patricia Hoeppe entwickelt und durchgeführt und strebte eine kulturelle Integration von Vielfalt an. In verschiedenen Stationen entstanden Exponate fortlaufend durch die künstlerisch Tätigen: über 150 unbegleitete minderjährige Flüchtlinge, 40 Studierende und verschiedene Bürger/-innen. The Big Arrival‘ stellte eine Plattform für Flüchtlinge, Studierende und Bürger dar, eigene Ängste zu erkennen, unfassbar Erlebtes zu fassen, sich damit künstlerisch auseinanderzusetzen und so sichtbar zu machen“, so Patricia Hoeppe.
Aktuell wird sie als partizipartorische work-in-progress-Ausstellung ‚The Big Trial’ weitergeführt. ‚The Big Trial’ thematisiert das Bleiben der Flüchtlinge mit den damit verbundenen individuellen sowie gesellschaftlichen Situationen. „Die Partizipierenden können durch diese Ausstellung kulturelle Teilhabe am demokratischen Gesellschaftssystem erfahren. Die in der Ausstellung angewandten performativen Methoden sind demokratische Verfahren. Durch mimetische und poetische Praktiken können eigene Positionen gesetzt und mit anderen ausgehandelt werden. Diese über Kunst erfahrenen Kompetenzen sind erwiesenermaßen übertragbar. Kulturelle Bildung und Performance-Kunst scheint deshalb als ein Weg zur kulturellen Integration sinnvoll“, so Patricia Hoeppe. (Auszug aus dem Pressetext Frankfurt AUS/ Ergänzung)
